PAI LV5 Tested in Extreme Cold and at High Altitude

March 20, 2026 – The PAI LV5 smart range-extended electric motorcycle underwent rigorous performance testing in extreme cold and at high altitude along the famed Sichuan-Tibet Highway 318.
The test pushed the limits in demanding conditions: temperatures as low as -16°C and altitudes reaching 4,298 meters. The LV5 was put to the test to validate its all-weather, all-terrain capabilities.
Reliable Performance in Extreme Cold
During continuous riding in snowy mountain passes, the LV5’s battery system demonstrated stable performance, proving its resilience and dependable range even in severe sub-zero temperatures.
Trustworthy Range at High Altitude
Navigating high-altitude mountain passes, the smart range-extender system automatically engaged, providing consistent supplemental power. The system delivered consistent and reliable real-world range, , giving riders the confidence to venture farther.
Uncompromised Power When Needed
The LV5 delivered immediate torque for confident starts on snowy inclines. Even in thin air at high altitude, the throttle response remained precise and direct, ensuring power was available on demand.
The test concluded with the LV5 parked at 4,298 meters in front of a landscape of colorful prayer flags—a testament to its ability to turn challenging, distant journeys into achievable rides.
This expedition validated the LV5 as a capable partner, engineered to perform reliably and extend the horizons of electric mobility, regardless of climate or geography.
